The brothers Kaufman's theories and the experimental movies affected not only the documentary and mainstream movies, but also the creations of such directors as Jean-Luc Godard, Jean Vigo, Stan Brakhage, Chris Marker, Elia Kazan, Sidney Lumet and others.
