The unique fragments from the famous performances with participation of the great ballet dancers of the XX century, who brought fame to the Bolshoi theatre. The film depicts stories about  their  creative  activities. 

Annа Pavlova in the dance “The Dying swan”, Sulamif Messerer and Asaf Messerer in the dances specially staged for them, Marina Semenova in the “Swan lake”, Olga Lepeshinskaya and Peter Gusev, Galina Ulanova in “Romeo and Juliet” and “Giselle”, Maya Plisetskaya in “Laurencia”, “Don Quixote”, “Carmen”, Ekaterina Maksimova and Vladimir Vasiliev in “Spartak” and the directions, especially created for them by Igor Belskiy and Yuri Grigorovich, Nina Ananishvili and Alexey Fadeichev, Nadezhda Gracheva in “La Bayadère”.
